Le Ghana est un pays en développement vulnérable aux effets néfastes du changement climatique.

Processus pour developer la CDN

Les CDN du Ghana ont été élaborées à l’issue d’un processus global et participatif, et ont été approuvées par un comité de haut niveau.

Description du suivi et/ou le mechanisme de la mise en œuvre

Le système de mesure, notification et vérification (MNV) mis en place pour les CDN sera intégré aux mécanismes nationaux de suivi et d’évaluation existants. Le système de MNV s’appuiera sur le système de rapport de situation annuel en vigueur, en améliorant les fonctionnalités techniques et en facilitant la coordination institutionnelle. Le système de MNV permettra de suivre les progrès réalisés par rapport aux objectifs fixés dans le cadre des CDN, et tiendra compte des mesures prioritaires à mettre en œuvre pour atteindre ces objectifs.

Résumé de la référence à la dimension de genre

Parmi les objectifs énoncés dans le volet d’adaptation des CDN, « la résilience des femmes et des hommes sur un pied d’égalité, ainsi que la résilience des groupes de population vulnérables, » sont considérées comme des mesures stratégiques. Le programme d’action national est axé « sur la mise en œuvre des mesures d’adaptation au niveau communautaire et sur la diversification des moyens d’existence pour les groupes vulnérables ». Les CDN du Ghana sont étayées par la politique nationale sur le changement climatique. Les besoins d’investissements sont évalués à 1 023 millions de dollars US et les engagements au titre des CDN sont inconditionnels.
