Proceso para el desarollo de CDN 

Esta NDC fue elaborada por el Grupo de Trabajo Nacional sobre el Clima. El Asesor Nacional sobre el Clima y la Oficina de Política Climática Nacional de la Casa Blanca dirigieron el proceso interinstitucional en todo el gobierno federal y consultaron a diversas partes interesadas, como grupos que representan a los jóvenes, los sindicatos, los científicos, los líderes gubernamentales, las empresas, las escuelas, las instituciones de enseñanza superior y los investigadores especializados. Los resultados de estas consultas, combinados con la elaboración de modelos y sometidos a nuevos debates, dieron lugar a la NDC, que fue aprobada por el Presidente.

Descripción de monitoreo y/o mecanismo de implementación 

La consecución de la NDC se evaluará comparando las emisiones netas de GEI para 2030 con las emisiones netas de GEI para 2005.
